Practicum

SCTCC SCSU Safe Space

As part of the program requirements, I completed a practicum with the St. Cloud State University's Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender (LGBT) Resource Center. This experience was a partnership between St. Cloud State University and St. Cloud Technical and Community College (SCTCC). The overall goal was to bring awareness of LGBT issues to SCTCC and facilitate Safe Space trainings to faculty, staff, and students.

My practicum site mentor was Brandon Johnson, former Director of the LGBT Resource Center, and my practicum coordinator was Dr. Christine M. Imbra, Professor in the Department of Educational Leadership and Higher Education. The practicum started in August 2015 and concluded in April 2016.

I presented this experience at the Student Research Colloquium on April 19, 2016, in Atwood Memorial Center - Ballroom.
